This past weekend my husband and I surprised our son Malik with a trip to Orlando’s Wild Florida Safari! Malik loves animals so we just knew that he’d love the Safari, the picture above is his reaction once we pulled in.
Below I’ll be sharing all the fun that we had on our trip, The park was AMAZING!
Location : 3301 Lake Cypress Rd. Kenansville, FL 34739
Hours : Park hours are from 9am- 6am. Reservations can be made from 8am-5pm. Closed on Sundays.
How to Purchase Tickets: Tickets can be purchased online. The prices vary by encounter but packages are available.
What to expect at Wild Florida Drive Thru Safari:
Upon arriving at Wild Florida’s Drive Thru Safari, we checked in at the Welcome kiosk where we received our wrist bands, tickets for giraffe feeding and a map to guide us through the park. The rules are: drive no more than 5 miles per hour, everyone must stay in their vehicles at all times and absolutely no feeding or touching the animals.
Wild Florida is home to over 100 native and exotic animals like giraffes, zebras, bison, antelope, mouflon sheep, and more. The kids were most excited to see the giraffes, which made the next adventure even more exciting.

What else is there to do?
The adventure continues after the safari ride. The park offers Giraffe feeding, Airboat tours, and an endless fun Gator park.
Upon entering the Giraffe habitat, we received lettuce to feed the Giraffes (for an additional charge). The kids loved watching Gary the giraffe slurp up the lettuce and I’m almost certain he winked at us a few times.
The Gator Park was just as exciting! We got to see animals from alligators, bobcats, parrots, turtles and so much more. The park also offers hands on experiences with alligators, parrots, and sloths. We were too chicken to get that close so we enjoyed the view from the sidelines.

Would we go back?
Of course! In fact the kids were already planning our next trip on the ride home. Maybe next time we won’t be too chicken to go on the airboat tour.
Wild Florida hosted our trip but All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
